Homestake Mining Company May 10,2019
Regular(112d)Operation Reclamation Permit Application Package
reduction BMPs will continue to be developed and refined, but are anticipated to include
the following:
o Continued operation of reagent injection systems to achieve insitu source load
reduction, including extraction/injection well operation and use of existing
phosphate dosing system.
o Ongoing maintenance and potential expansion of reagent injection piping and well
network.
o Potential installation of additional passive treatment technologies, such as
engineered treatment cells, or similar.
o Potential installation of water segregation systems, such as French drains at the
toes of the IRD and TCRD for water capture and passive treatment.
Existing roads and drainage features within this operable unit are located on private property and
will remain open to accommodate general site access and erosion necessities.
The reclamation areas will be regraded to the final topography shown on Exhibit F Map F-0513.
5.6. Operable Unit 6: Sandstone Quarry
The current topography for the Sandstone Quarry is shown on Exhibit F Map F- 06A.
5.6.1. Previous Reclamation
As the Minerals Program Inspection Report performed on July 25, 2018 (CDRMS, 2018b)
acknowledged, the sandstone quarry area is in final reclamation. The area has been regraded
and reseeded, as shown on Exhibit F Map 06A. Vegetation is well established over most of the
area.
5.6.2. Proposed Reclamation
The following reclamation activities are proposed within the Sandstone Quarry:
• The upper northeast slope will be logged and clear-cut to allow for grading and
revegetation.
• There is a small portion of the slope at the northeast end of the quarry will be regraded.
The final slope will be created by pushing down the rocky outcrop material.
Existing roads and drainage features within this operable unit are located on private property and
will remain open to accommodate general site access and surface water management.
The reclamation areas will be regraded to the final topography shown on Exhibit F Map 06B.
5.7. Operable Unit 7: Limestone Quarry
The current topography for the Limestone Quarry is shown on Exhibit F Map F-07A.
EXHIBIT E-RULE 6.4.5(AMENDED RECLAMATION PLAN) Page 72
HOMESTAKE MINING COMPANY
