Homestake Mining Company May 10,2019 <br /> Regular(112d)Operation Reclamation Permit Application Package <br /> 5.4.2. Proposed Reclamation <br /> The following reclamation activities are proposed within the TCRD area: <br /> • Minor recontouring and surface preparation to grade out the area and promote positive <br /> drainage. <br /> • The Cover Placement included the loading, hauling and placement of cover material in <br /> preparation of revegetation, included fertilizing and seeding regraded slopes and terraces <br /> with the specified seed mix for the Mine. <br /> • Piezometers will be maintained for water level measurement and water quality sampling <br /> as long as the Water Management OU is in operation. Following reclamation of the Water <br /> Management OU, piezometers will be plugged and abandoned using standard procedures <br /> or retained for future operating use. Well stickups will be removed and surrounding well <br /> pads will be reclaimed and revegetated. All materials removed during wellhead <br /> abandonment will be properly disposed of. After surface features of the abandoned wells <br /> have been removed, the site will be graded to prepare it for seeding. <br /> Existing roads and drainage features within this operable unit are located on private property and <br /> will remain open to accommodate general site access and erosion necessities. <br /> The TCRD reclamation areas will be regraded to the final topography shown on Exhibit F Map F- <br /> 0413, with a section presented on Exhibit F Map F-04C. <br /> 5.5. Operable Unit 5: Water Management System <br /> The various areas and components comprising the Water Management System are shown on <br /> Exhibit F Map F-05A. <br /> 5.5.1. Previous Reclamation <br /> Previous reclamation activities include the closing and sealing of the Pinnacle Adit and workings <br /> from underground operations, and the demolition and removal of the RTP. These areas are <br /> considered reclaimed. <br /> 5.5.2. Proposed Reclamation <br /> The following reclamation activities are proposed within the Sediment Pond and Water Treatment <br /> Plant: <br /> • Sediment Pond Improvements will be performed consisting of lowering the water level and <br /> replacing the Sediment Pond Valves and Risers. <br /> • The Water Treatment Plant will be demolished and disposed of, placing recovered <br /> material in approved storage areas, and plugging the pipes from the Sediment Dam. <br /> • Once water quality standards are achieved,the Sediment Dam will be breached, regrading <br /> will be performed to approximate the slopes of surrounding areas, and reseeded. <br /> • Water management systems aimed at reducing dissolved uranium load to achieve future <br /> surface water quality standards will continue for as long as required.
