3. Reclamation Plans Applicability to DRMS Rule 3
The affected area will be reclaimed as 38.5 acres of rangeland and 24.1 acres of ponds. This use
was selected by the Operators and the Lake County Commissioners as consistent with the
approved uses in the area. The results of the decisions were formulated into the reclamation plan.
This application, of which this is a part, and all of the decisions formulated into it, constitute
what the applicant believes is an appropriate and workable Reclamation Plan.
The permit area will be reclaimed in phases as mining is completed in each section. All
reclamation will be carried to completion by the Operator within five (5) years from the date the
Operator informs the Board or Office that such phase has commenced. The 5-year period may be
applied separately to each phase.
Grading will be conducted to create an appropriate topography for the final use of rangeland and
water storage. No structural backfilling will occur. Grading will be performed to control erosion.
All slopes will be graded to 3H:1 V or shallower above and below the water line in each of the
lakes. Final grading will occur in phases and as soon as possible, concurrent with phased and
final reclamation. Map F-1 shows the reclamation plan for the site.
Any drill-holes or auger holes will be plugged as soon as possible. No shafts or adits will be
constructed. No pollutants will be released into the surface waters or the ground waters.
4. Topsoil and Revegetation Plan
Topsoil will be salvaged prior to the commencement of mining activities and stockpiled for use
during reclamation. Stockpiling will only occur for initial topsoil salvaging; the majority of
subsequent topsoil salvage will be direct placed live as part of concurrent reclamation. Stockpiles
that are to remain in place for greater than 90 days will be seeded with the reclamation plan seed
mix to prevent erosion.
For each area of reclamation, soil will be disked to loosen the soil. Drill and broadcast seeding
will be utilized throughout the site. Seed mixes listed below will be used to revegetate the site
with Rangeland mix on the slopes and irrigated pasture on the flats. Certified weed free mulch
will be crimped into the surface at 2000 lbs. per acre. Heavy furrows will be left in the tilled
topsoil to provide moisture concentration and shade areas in order to promote better conditions
Birdseye Pit Gm Ix jck,and 1swcialm I'I L(
June 2019 E-2
