EXHIBIT E RECLAMATION PLAN
1. General Reclamation Plan
The total area of the permit is 129 acres. The total area to be disturbed is 63.4 acres. The
reclamation process will begin as soon as possible as mining progresses through the site.
Schofield Excavation will reclaim this mine site to rangeland, with lakes in the future. No trees
shrubs or bushy-type vegetation will be planted; only the appropriate grasses selected by the
NRCS will be used. The site will be graded to compliment the surrounding topography. The pit
floor will be flat, and slopes will be mined and graded at 3H:1 V or flatter.
Upon mining into the groundwater, the pits will flood naturally. and the resultant ponds will
remain. This will only occur once a substitute water supply plan or water augmentation plan is in
place. If groundwater is never exposed, then the flat bottoms of the pits will be reclaimed to
rangeland. The final slopes of each pond will be armored with riprap as shown on Map F-1. This
will prevent erosion of final reclaimed slopes during river flood events.
Salvaged topsoil, located as per Map C-2, will be spread across all disturbed areas during
reclamation and will be used in final reclamation areas once processing equipment has been
removed. Earthmoving for reclamation will be simple and typical of this type of mine. The
majority of topsoil replacement and revegetation will occur concurrently with mining. Topsoil
will be replaced at 12 inches.
Table E-1 Reclamation Areas
Description
Ponds 24.1 Acres
Reclaimed Pastureland 38.5 Acres
Ate PAW 0.4 Acres
Undisturbed 66.0 Acres
iota!Permit Area 129 Acres
2.
