April 9, 2019 C-1981-018/Deserado Mine CCW <br /> <br /> <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 6 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4 <br /> <br /> Page 9 of 13 <br /> <br />The Raw Water Lagoon is located at the southern portion of the permit boundary next to the White River. The <br />pump for the fresh water intake was active during the inspection. The embankments for the pond were stable and <br />well vegetated. There were no indications of erosion. <br /> <br />PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES – Rule 4.10 and 4.11 <br />Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement: <br /> The RP-1 refuse pile is a reclaimed refuse pile at the mine site. Vegetation at the site has become well <br />stablished. There were no erosional features identified at the reclaimed area. The pile was stable. The RP -2/3/4 <br />and RP-5a refuse piles are currently active at the mine site. The RP -2/3/4pile was stable and well maintained. <br />Refuse on the pile was spread and compacted, there were no erosional concerns identified. The perimeter ditches <br />were in good repair. Refuse was being places and spread out on the RP -5a pile at the time of the inspection. The <br />pile was observed to be stable with no erosional concerns. The perimeter ditches were clear of debris and <br />functioning as designed. <br /> <br />ROADS – Rule 4.03 <br />Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3), Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4), Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and <br />(6)/4.03.2(5) and (6), Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br /> Access roads throughout the mine site were in good repair. There were no erosional concerns or issues <br />with stability identified. The haul road was in good condition. There were no erosional features or issues with <br />rutting. The ditch along the haul road extending from County Road 65 to the facilities area had been recently <br />cleaned. The sediment traps were in good condition. <br /> <br />REVEGETATION – Rule 4.15 <br />Vegetative Cover; Timing: <br /> The LBW12-1 pad was visited during the inspection. The pad had been returned to approximate original <br />contour (AOC) and reseeded. The site was stable with no erosional features. The veget ation was beginning to <br />become well-established. <br /> <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br /> Support Facilities at the Deserado Mine that were inspected include; <br /> <br />- Explosives Storage <br />- Wash Plant <br />- B Vent Shaft No. 1 <br />- RDH-2 <br />- Halandras Landfill <br />- 12L-XC-53 Pad <br />-13L-XC-60 Pad <br />-13L Return Shaft <br />- Slot Storage <br />- Nitrogen #2 Plant <br />- RDH-3
