EXHIBIT "H"
6.4.8 Wildlife Information
(1) Description of game and non-game resources on and in the vicinity of the
Operation:
(a) Significant wildlife resources on the affected land:
There are no known significant wildlife resources on the areas which could be affected by
the proposed operation.
(b) Seasonal use of thearea:
There is no known significant seasonal use of the proposed area. Since the site is
presently an active mine site and the proposed addition will only double the affected area
to about 68.46 acres, seasonal use by wildlife is minimal.
(c) The presence of threatened or endangered species:
The site is an active mining area and there are no known threatened or endangered animal
species on the existing and proposed permit area.
(d) Describe the effect of mining and reclamation activity during and afterthe
proposed operation on existing wildlife:
Due to the limited area of the existing and proposed 112 permit, the existing and
proposed operation should have a relatively insignificant impact on wildlife. Once
mining and reclamation are complete, the area will bereturned to its pre-mining use,
rangeland. Any impact which might have occurred in relation to wildlife should be
mitigated.
(2) Division of Parks and Wildlife comments:
A request shall be sent, certified mail,to the Colorado Division of Parksand Wildlife
(CDPW). We will provide a copy of their response, if received. Where possible, the
Operator/Applicant will attempt to minimize impacts to wildlife and follow CDPW
recommendations.
