the mined area. This process is intended to eliminate the need for large
settling ponds.
7. A temporary 50' by 15' access to County Road 6 will be built by CRCC and is
included in the pit limits and acreage totaling 29.93 acres that is being requested
in the permit. This temporary entry enters directly onto existing CR6. The access
road will be returned to existing contours when mining is completed and returned
to its current use as rangeland
8. The pit is existing side hills in rangeland which will be mined by beginning at the
western edge of the pit limits and excavating easterly. The pit floor will be graded
to a relatively level hill top elevation, continuing until sufficient quantity of
aggregate is removed to fulfill requirements for the project.
9. The slopes of the excavation will be made a 4H:1 V slope or flatter. The slopes
will be graded as the excavation proceeds and vertical pit walls will not be
necessary.
10. The dimensions will be as shown on Exhibit E—Mining Plan Map. The pit limits
are rectangular in shape with leg lengths of approximately 1,815 feet long (N—S)
and 718 feet wide (E— W) for an affected area of 29.3 acres within the excavated
area.
11. There will be no depressions left after mining operations are completed and
therefore no impoundments or drainage alterations will be left in the reclaimed
area.
12. Water will be used within the pit will be for dust control and material washing.
The source of this water will be from the City of Flagler. Total usage will be
approximately 20 acre-feet. The agreement with the Town is attached.
13. A storm water management plan will be filed with the Colorado Department of
Health to maintain the hydrologic balance.
14. This excavation is into virgin ground. It is not anticipated that any foreign refuse
or acid or toxic producing materials will be encountered.
15. Since the before and after use of the land is rangeland, minimal change will result
to the hydrologic balance, no off-site damage will occur and the slopes and other
general configuration of the land will be more stable for the current and reclaimed
use due to elimination of existing erosion (caused by normal natural wind and
water action over time) . No standing water will be retained longer than 24 hours
after reclamation. In addition, the excavated area will be mulched to eliminate
topsoil erosion.
