The fill area is indicated on the map in purple and will be used to dispose of all large stumps and the <br /> septic system. This fill area is located on private land. ` <br /> A construction trailer and porta-toilet will be located on private land and is indicated on the map in <br /> yellow. The loading area on private land will be in the detention pond area,which is approximately 2 <br /> acres in size. There will be a smaller loading area on National Forest System Lands that will be <br /> approximately 1 acre in size, these are indicated in orange on the map. <br /> C. PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br /> Ply Enterprises plans to develop this site in three phases: 1) pre production site preparation; 2) <br /> production;and 3)reclamation. Part of the reclamation phase would be concurrent with production <br /> phase. <br /> PRE-PRODUCTION SITE PREPARATION: These activities are designed primarily to secure the <br /> site boundaries,provide access for mining,storage and removal of gravel,and to implement drainage <br /> improvements.This phase of mining would involve the following steps: <br /> 1. The entire site boundary would be fenced(4 strand barbed wire with metal posts)and signed <br /> to prevent unauthorized entry and protect public safety. <br /> 2. The access road at the entrance to the site from Highway 67,located on private land,would <br /> be widened to approximately 40 feet, and new culverts and drainage improveineiits will ba <br /> installed. <br /> 3. Highway 67 would be re-striped in accordance with the access permit issued by the Colorado <br /> Department of Transportation. <br /> 4. An abandoned septic system and leach field located on private land would be removed and <br /> disposed of in a fill area located on private land.This would be done in accordance with state <br /> and local health regulations. <br /> 5. Drainage improvements including the detention pond,silt fencing and dissipation pool would <br /> be constructed and maintained by PX Enterprises for the life of this mine. <br /> 6. A new haul road would be constructed connecting an existing road in the north drain way on <br /> National Forest land to the lower portion of the pit. <br /> 7. Upon completion of the drainage improvements,the area to the west of the existing cut slope <br /> and the upper loading area, located on both public and private lands would be lowered, <br /> leveled and configured to provide areas for gravel storage and loading of gravel onto trucks <br /> for removal from the site. <br /> 8. The trees and shrubs located on National Forest System land, above and to the east of the <br /> existing cut slopes,would be removed.The trees would be sold for lumber or firewood and <br /> the tree limbs,shrub material, and stumps would be chipped or stored in large piles for later <br /> use in reclamation. <br /> 9. Topsoil will be removed,stockpile and stabilized with sterile seed.The stockpiles would be <br /> _ located on National Forest System land on the north, east, and south boundaries. <br /> 10.
