(GSB) received your notice of a citizen complaint via telephone on January
29, 2019 for the Chieftain South Mine. The complaint was regarding dust blowing off a material
stockpile during a high wind event on Sunday January 27, 2019.
The stockpile in question is an overburden stockpile that was created during the excavation of a
stormwater ditch that will carry stormwater from nearby Green Mountain around the mining operation.
The overburden stockpile is located near the south and east permit boundaries adjacent to the Solterra
Development. At the end of the life of the mine, the overburden stockpile will be placed into the pit as
backfill.
View of overburden stockpile on right and stormwater ditch on left looking south
" ;x, F3w
r
w .
s w
u,
P
e
Z M
tit 'y
a
Y
