Rosana Western Wheatgrass 4.0 PLS pounds/acre
Total: 11.5 PLS/A
*Please note the above species mix may be adjusted through a permit
revision, based on the characteristics of the underlying original soils once
they are exposed and appropriate soil amendments applied.
The site will be drill seeded. Soil amendments will be applied per soils analyses.
Phosphorus, if needed, should be applied prior to seeding and incorporated into the
soil. Only light applications of nitrogen type fertilizers are typically recommended.
Nitrogen can stimulate weeds and inhibit the establishment of desirable plant
species.
If it is determined certain areas are to be broadcast seeded due to site conditions, the
seedbed will be roughed up and the broadcast seeding rate will be double the drill
seeding rate.
(iv) specify the application method for grass and forb seeding. If the seed is to
be broadcast, the application rate shall be twice the rate required for seed
drilling. If the seedbed has not been adequately roughened prior to
seeding, the seed shall be raked or harrowed after broadcast application;
The grass seed mixture described above in 6.3.4(1)(c)(iii) shall be drilled or
broadcast seeded. If broadcast seeded, the seedbed shall be in a roughened
condition. A spike tooth harrow, for example, other similar device may be
used to create a rough surface. The seed will then be broadcast at twice the
drill seed rate. The seed will then be lightly harrowed or raked to
adequately cover the seed.
During all phases of operations and reclamation, inspection shall be routine
to identify the presence or establishment of noxious weeds, as defined by the
State of Colorado. The Company shall work in concert with Gilpin
County's Noxious Weed Management Plan to identify and manage noxious
weeds.
(v) if a mulch is needed, specify the kind to be used, the crimping method, and
rate of application;and
The NRCS strongly recommends the application of certified weed free straw
(applied at 2 tons per acre) covered with bio-degradable netting or
application of wood cellulose hydro mulch with a long-lived tackifier.
41
