Exhibit "D"
Reclamation Plan
6.3.4 Reclamation Plan:
The purpose of the Reclamation Plan is to describe the timing, procedures, criteria and materials
that will be used to reclaim the affected land to the proposed future land use. This Plan must be
correlated to Exhibit E - Map. The description of the Reclamation Plan must be adequate to satisfy
the requirements of Section 3.1 and demonstrate compliance with Rule 3. At a minimum, the
Application shall include the following information:
(1) The Operation/Applicant has prepared a reclamation plan that addresses the following
items; final grading, which includes drainage, seeding, fertilizing, vegetation, and topsoil
replacement as necessary to achieve the future land use. The plan is based on traditional
reclamation practices.
(a) Specify at what point in the mining plan and to what depth(s) overburden
will be replaced in relation to ongoing extraction:
This is a borrow operation. No overburden shall be removed or replaced.
(b) Specify the maximum gradient of the reclaimed slopes (horizontal: vertical). If the
Application proposes slopes steeper than 3:1, the Operator/Applicant must include a
justification that supports steeper slopes for the proposed post mining land use, and
demonstrates compliance with the applicable performance standards of Section 3.1:
Since the mining operations will generally be a truck and shovel operation, the slopes
during mining will be .SH.•I V. As tive approach the perimeter of the borrow pit, ive Mil mine
at a 3H:1 V slope to eliminate the need to backfill the highs► -alis, The proposed slopes will
benefit the post mining land use, rangeland.
(c) Specify the measures that will be taken to revegetate the site, if applicable,
including:
(i) State the thickness of the plant growth medium to be replaced. Sample and
analyze available soils sufficiently to establish quantity and quality:
Plant growth material will be replaced to a depth range of 4-6 inches. Currently there will
be a shortage of plant growth material. We will need to augment the available topsoil as
discussed in Section 6.3.3(1)(b).
(ii) State at what point in the mining plan the site will be seeded. Explain how the
seedbed will be prepared to eliminate compacted conditions. State the type,
application rate, and soil incorporation methods of fertilizer application, if any:
Topsoil replacement will be done when ground conditions are appropriate and soon after
regrading is complete. Dependent upon the amount of compaction, the
Revised Page 41
