• All haul roads interior to the borrow site will be maintained during mining operations to be safe and to function properly. • Road maintenance will include maintaining proper drainage, runoff controls, and dust control, as needed. • No on-site scale, processing facility, office, shop.'maintenance facility, plant, or any underground openings will be needed. (f) Specify the dimensions of any significant disturbance to the land surface such as pit excavations, mine benches, impoundments, stockpiles, waste rock disposal areas, etc: • Please see Exhibit E - Pre -Mine: Mine Plan Map for pit dimensions and estimated excavation limits. No mine benches, impoundments or waste rock disposal areas are anticipated. • Since the mining operations will generally be a truck and shovel operation, the slopes during mining will be .5H: I V As we approach the perimeter of the borrow pit, we will mine at a 3H.• 1 V slope to eliminate the need to backfill the highwalls. (g) Specify the dimensions of any existing or proposed roads that will be used for the mining operation. Describe any improvements necessary on existing roads and the specifications to be used in the construction of new roads. Describe any associated drainage and runoff conveyance structures to include sufficient information to evaluate structure sizing: As to pit access, please see Section 6.3.3(1)(e) above. No runoff or conveyance structures are planned. A short driveway will be constructed for site access. It will conform to CDOT standards. (h) Specify the amount of water will be used in conjunction with the operation, and the source of the water: • The only water needed for the borrow pit operation is what will be needed for road watering for fugitive dust control. A typical gravel mining operation may be expected to use about 1.3 acre-feet of water per year for dust control. The borrow operation should not exceed 12 months of actual excavation. Therefore 1.3 acre- feet of water should be sufficient for dust control. There will be no other uses of water at the borrow site. • Water for the project will be purchased locally. (i) If Ground water will be encountered and/or surface water intercepted or disturbed, describe how mining will affect the quantity and quality of the surface or ground water and the methods to be used to minimize disturbance to the surface and ground water systems including proposed dewatering, sediment -containment or chemical treatment systems, storm water run-off controls, and ground water points of compliance: Neither ground nor surface water will be intercepted or disturbed by the proposed borrow pit mining and reclamation activities. if necessary, a Stonnwater Management Permit will be secured from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Water Quality Control Division (WQCD).
