(3) Maintenance Shed <br />• This structure is used for underground maintenance and small parts <br />storage. It is a single -story, 32' x 13' x 9' high structure of <br />corrugated aluminum on a concrete slab foundation. It has no water or <br />toilet facilities. Fire extinguishers are strategically placed within <br />the building. <br />(4) Compressor Building <br />This enclosure houses large air compressors. The compressors are <br />operated by an electric motor and air is piped underground for various <br />underground pneumatic equipment. This single -story, 30' x 12' x 8' <br />high building, is constructed of sheet metal and sits on a compacted <br />fill foundation. It is posted "Danger", "High Voltage", and <br />"Compressed Air". <br />(5) Rock Dust Bin <br />• This bin is used to store pulverized, untreated limestone which is <br />used to suppress coal dust underground. It is an 11 -foot diameter <br />cylindrical structure on an 11' x 11' steel beam support on four <br />concrete footers. The structure is equipped with an exhaust filter <br />and a "full" indicator light. It poses no threat to the environment <br />or public safety. <br />s <br />(6) Vent Fan Building Number 3 <br />This one-story, 35' x 10' x 10' tall, sheet metal enclosure sits on a <br />concrete foundation and houses the vent fan for Mine Number 3. The <br />unit is completely enclosed and lockable, with steel grating across <br />the outlet end of the fan shroud. The vent fan is equipped with a <br />siren to indicate problems or a shut-off condition. Air exhaust does <br />not exist in quantities sufficient to cause harm to persons or the <br />environment, and gases do not accumulate to a harmful level. <br />4-6 <br />
