(29) Powder Magazine <br />• (30) Mine Portals Numbers 1 and 3 <br />(31) Rail System <br />(32) Roads <br />(33) Supply Area <br />(34) Utility Corridors <br />These facilities are described and characterized in the following <br />paragraphs. <br />Buildings and Structures <br />In the following characterization of surface facilities at the mine, <br />descriptions correspond with numbers entered on Drawings D-3-4 and <br />D-3-5. <br />(1) Office and Bathhouse <br />• This building houses the mine foreman's office, the foreman's shower <br />room, the hourly employees' shower room, and water heaters. It is a <br />one-story, 50' x 55' tall, metal building on a concrete slab foun- <br />dation. Three fire extinguishers are placed strategically throughout <br />the building, and water from the bathhouse runs directly into the <br />sewage line. Thus, no potential public safety or environmental <br />hazards are associated with the office and bathhouse. <br />(2) Water Treatment Building <br />The water treatment building houses the facilities to treat mine water <br />discharge from Mine Number 3 for use in the bathhouse. It is a <br />single -story metal building on a concrete slab foundation with dimen- <br />sions of 22' x 20' x 16' high. Backwash water from the filter is sent <br />directly into the sewage line. There is a fire extinguisher in the <br />building, and an eyewash station is provided in case of chlorine <br />spills. <br />• <br />4-5 <br />
