generated fines, the product of previous mining efforts and sluice box rejected sediment backfill.
This substitute topsoil and fines material will have a silty fine grain size and will be amended with
a soil augmenter and mulch for reclamation. Fast growing species such as quickoats may be
planted to introduce organic material into the developing topsoil. Following quickoat initial
growth, oats will be tilled into the topsoil. This sequence has been shown to be effective in
helping to rebuild organic matter in topsoils that are lacking in nutritional elements.
At the end of the mining life, the following equipment will be dismantled and hauled off site:
• all fuel tanks
• piping, portable conveyors, pumps, etc.
• office trailers
• portable processing plants
Internal roads will be left in place throughout the property to be used post reclamation. Electric
power poles will remain for post-mining land use. The lined berms around any and all fuel
storage tanks will be removed while pre-law sporadic earthen berms and dredged gravel piles
throughout the site will remain.
While wetland areas exist onsite, no lands with wetlands will be mined and no new wetland
vegetation species will be planted during reclamation.
2. Reclamation Timetable
Reclamation will take place concurrent with mining with an additional estimated 6 months of
reclamation commencing after mining is completed. Mining is projected to be completed by
2043. Therefore, final reclamation and bond release is expected to be completed by 2044 or
within 25 years. Exhibit L: Reclamation Costs describes the worst case bond scenario.
3. Revegetation Plan
For each area of reclamation, lands will not need to be disked to loosen the soil as all soils to be
reclaimed will be recently filled topographic lows throughout the site that previously served as
sediment settling ponds and deposits for sluice reject sediments that result in settled but
unconsolidated soils as opposed to traditional hard packed reclaimed earth.
