drilled or broadcast seeded depending on slope conditions and site parameters at the time of
planting. Areas with fresh topsoil placed directly from the adjacent mining area may not require
seeding as live volunteer rangeland seeds will be included in the topsoil. The seed mix listed
below will be used to revegetate the site with high altitude rangeland mix on all surfaces, as
needed. Shredded trees or certified weed free mulch may be crimped into the surface at 2000 lbs.
per acre. Soil amendments may be added to substitute topsoil created from settling pond fines, as
needed and determined by a soil test at the time of seeding. Heavy furrows will be left in placed
topsoil to provide moisture concentration and shade areas in order to promote better conditions
for successful vegetation establishment. Seeding will take place during the fall following
retopsoiling of slopes. Slopes will be regraded, backfilled, and retopsoiled as soon as they are
able to be reclaimed.
3.1 Revegetation Flexibility
In order to achieve successful revegetation on the last remaining areas of the site to enter final
reclamation, Titan Au will employ different revegetation tactics based on what conditions merit.
Therefore, the Operator retains the ability to alter the seed mix, seeding plan, topsoil depth and
any other component of revegetation on the pre-law areas that have not been disturbed by mining
under a DRMS permit. Once Titan Au has found successful strategies for revegetation, it will
submit a revision to this permit to allow the use of those strategies on the rest of the site as
appropriate. All revegetation work at the Box Creek Placer Mine will be done with consultation
of the local Natural Resources Conservation Service office and Lake County.
3.2 Rangeland Seed Mix
Species Pounds of pure live seed per acre(drilled)
Sheep fescue-Bighorn 0.50
Mountain Brome-Bromer 3.00
Big Bluegrass-Sherman 0.50
Slender Wheatgrass-San Luis 2.00
Ferry's Oatgrass 2.00
Timothy, alpine-native 0.25
Praide Junegrass 0.15
Needlegrass green-Londorm 2.00
Box Creek Placer Mine (:rcl Lcwicki and Asnriatcc PL1 f
September 2018 E-3
