EXHIBIT E RECLAMATION PLAN
1. General Reclamation Plan
The total disturbed area for the full mine life to be reclaimed under this permit is approximately
300 acres. However, no more than 40 acres will be disturbed at any given time during mining
and reclamation phases. Reclamation plans can be viewed on Map F-1. Post-mining land use will
be rangeland as it is currently. Multiple final ponds will be present post mining and reclamation;
however, these ponds are remnants of historic mining and will not be redisturbed during this
current mining effort and are not included in the reclamation effort. Historic pre-1980 gravel
dredge piles will remain undisturbed during mining and the Operator is not responsible for
reclamation of these pre-law areas. As described in the mining plan, reclamation will occur
concurrently with mining. No more than three active mining pits will be open at a time. Grading
of post-law areas will occur concurrently with mining and will be the direct result of sluice box
rejects deposited into preexisting topographic lows such as ponds, trenches, and depressed valleys
resultant of pre-law mining.
Topsoil and overburden from the current mining area will be stripped prior to mining and used to
reclaim mined out areas concurrent with new mining efforts; therefore, no stockpiling of topsoil
or overburden will occur in any phase of mining in any location on site. A front end loader, haul
trucks, and dozer will be used to place and distribute overburden and topsoil throughout the site.
It is anticipated that backfilling and seeding will occur at 1 to 2 year intervals until the site is
completely mined. However, as topsoil derived on site will be directly placed in previously
mined and backfilled areas, reseeding may not be necessary as topsoil will contain sufficient
volumes of rangeland live seeds. Topsoil will be replaced to an average depth of 4 inches in all
post-law disturbed areas; however, undisturbed area topsoil depths are highly variable and
contain high gravel and cobble fractions. Topsoil, especially in the initial phases of mining, may
be used to reclaim the limited already graded flat areas of pre-law disturbance. This will occur
only after processing equipment is moved from these first phase processing/pre-law disturbed
and flat areas.
Portable processing areas cannot be reclaimed until the end of the mine's life; however, these
areas will not exceed an approximate combined 10 acres. These areas will be filled with site
Box Creek Placer Mine Greg I.ewicla and Amciatm PI.LC
September 2018 E-1
