Deep Cut LLC- 22 West Pit Page 3
Adequacy response 02 Permit # M-2017-032
Because of the way the maps in the last adequacy response were, your right but wrong.
For Option 1 the maximum disturbance would be 25.16 acres ± [38.35 acres (permit area) -
0.37 Acres (concrete wash out area) - 0.14 Acres (south side lake separation)- 12.68
acres (existing lake area)]. For Option 2 it would be 16.17 acres [38.35 acres (permit
area) - 9.36 acres (ne pre-law area) - 0.14 Acres (south shore) - 12.68 acres (existing
lake area)].
3) The acreages listed in the revised Mining Timetable do not correlate with the acreages
shown on the two mining plan maps submitted. For example, on Option 1, the timetable
shows a total lake area of 12.68 acres, but the Exhibit C-1 Mining Pan Map shows a total
lake area of 18.56 acres. On Option 2, the timetable shows a total lake area of 12.68 acres
during that phase, while the Exhibit C-2 mining plan map shows a total lake area of 25.48
acres during that phase.
Correct, but they should not match because the maps show a period of time in the future
during mining. The simplest way to explain it is that the timetable is in the present and
the maps are in the future. The mining timetable shows that various area to be mined
(mined area column), but the current lake size and the plant site area is what will be left
when mining is complete. If we show how much lake will be created then the table will not
balance since some of the future mined area will be water area when mining ends.
Additionally, on Option 1, the timetable shows a setbacks/plant site area of 6.12 acres, while the
Exhibit C-1 map shows a plant site area of 8.93 acres. On Option 2, The timetable shows a
setbacks/plant site area of 12.61 acres, while the Exhibit C-2 map shows a plant area of 3.78
acres.
This again falls back to they will not match as the timetable is in the present and the maps
are in the future. The areas in the tables will not match the maps because, the timetable
is what exists now and the maps show what would exist when mining reaches that point in
time.
Please correct any discrepancies between the acreages given in the timetable and the
acreages shown on the correlated mining plan maps.
To make this a little clearer, I added the number of acres in the legend for the colored
areas on the maps. If I make the maps match the timetables then they would look like the
Pre-Mining Plan Map.
4) In the mining plan text (above the mining timetable), it states the total area to be mined is
15.60 acres. However, in the timetable, for Option 1,the mined area is 19.55 acres,
which is more than 15.60 acres. Please explain or correct any discrepancies between the
mining plan text and the mining timetable.
