Pmypn
fence line in the western portion of the study area (Photos 5 and 8 in Photolog). The boundary of the study
area was assumed to be the fence line so these wetlands were not mapped and are excluded from Table 2.
Both of these wetlands could be estimated using aerial photography.
Table 2 Summary of WUS and Wetlands in the Study Area
Latitude and Cowardian
Longitude' Classification' Acres
Open Waters
South Platte River 40.092863°,° Riverine 3.40
-104.820961
Lupton Bottom Ditch 40.092650°, Riverine 0.21
-104.826395°
Wetlands WL
WL-1 40.092779°, PEM/PSS 0.39
-104.821426'
WL 2 40.093351°, PEM 0.03
-104.822531°
WL-3 40.091961°, PEM/PSS 0.04
-104.8220500
WL-4 40.091 142°, PEM 0.02
-104.822187'
WL-5 40.092749°, PEM 0.21
-104.826297'
WL-6 40.091338°, PEM 3.30
-104.831044'
WL-7 40.0944720, PEM 0.64
-104.829736°
lApproximate center point of wetland in World Geodetic System of 1984(WGS84)Decimal Degrees
z Cowardin,et al., 1979,PEM=Palustrine Emergent
With the assumption of avoidance of open waters, wetlands, and riparian areas, the project is not likely to have
impacts on these resources.
Noxious Weeds
Numerous noxious weeds were identified throughout the study area and are described in Table 4. The
Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) Noxious Weed Act of 2003 (CRS 35-5-101; CRS 35-5.5-101;
Executive Order (EO) D-006-99), defines and prioritizes management objectives for state-designated noxious
weeds and land owners are required to have a plan to manage noxious weeds. The Colorado Department of
Agriculture has management goals for noxious weeds located in different areas and some of the weeds noted
in the study area are specified for eradication in Weld County. Because of the species and number of species
present in the study area, Pinyon recommends an integrated noxious weed management plan to manage weeds
before and during project activities. Pinyon can provide this service.
Informal Wetland Delineation and Biological Resources Report
Weld County Gravel Pit Project
November 16, 2017 7
