June 18, 2018 C-1981-019/Colowyo Coal Mine ZTT <br /> <br /> <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 11 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4 <br /> <br /> Page 3 of 11 <br /> <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9 ; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />Prospect Pond, Gulch A Pond and Streeter Pond were inspected. All ponds have access via Sta te Highway 13 and <br />were inspected along the road. All ponds were stable and no issues were observed. <br /> <br />The East Taylor Pond held water and was stable. <br /> <br />The Final East Pit Ditch (FEPD) and North Tributary, East Pit Ditch (NTEPD) were inspected. Some settling has <br />occurred along the lower portion of the FEPD repair work. Overall, the channel is stable and no major erosion or <br />cutting was observed. During the inspection, stock tanks along the FEPD and NTEPD, held water but were not <br />discharging through the ditch. The FEPD showed no signs of erosion and remained stable along the entire length. <br />No issues were observed with NTEPD and NTEP1. <br /> <br />The Taylor Tributary Ditch (TTD), Taylor Ditch (TD) and East Taylor Ditch (ETD) were inspected. TTD and TD <br />are armored along the entire length. No erosion or cutting were observed. ETD is constructed partially as a <br />vegetated channel and also armored with rip rap along steeper s ections of the channel. No issues were observed <br />with any of the ditches. <br /> <br />Section 36 and Middle Pond were inspected. Both ponds were constructed in 2017 and vegetation has not yet <br />established itself along the embankments. The ponds held minimal water and no issues were observed. <br /> <br />GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE: <br />Ongoing construction at the Collom Facility area continues. The most notable items being constructed at the time <br />of the inspection included the rock crusher as well as the substation. <br /> <br />Substation. Rock crusher. <br />
