EXHIBIT L
RECLAMATION COSTS (revised 4/3 0/18)
The following information depicts a worse case scenario when it
would be most expensive to reclaim the site in the first ten (10)
year after mining starts . This reclamation cost estimate is
based on mining starting in the old Plant Site area and when the
pendula between the small lake and the larger lake has been mined
and mining has been started on a portion of the west lake start-
ing at the western end of the pre-law dirt pile . Map Exhibit L -
Reclamation Cost Map shows that the old Plant site covers 12 . 32
acres which was used historically as an industrial and Concrete
Batch Plant area, 1 . 57 acres is pre-law area that needs no
reclamation should it not be redisturbed and 0 . 63 acres has been
graded along where the new lake was created. The post 1981 lake
area covers 14 . 80 acres, there is 9 . 03 acres of pre-law dirt pile
and reclaimed lake shores in the northeast part of the mine fora
total of 38 . 35 acres ± . While the area needing grading is less
then what exists when the mine opens, there is 350 feet of
working face needing grading 3h to lv.
At this time in the life of the mine the old plant site area
12 . 32 acres, will need grading and shaping (no resoiling since
non exists now) and some equipment will need to be disposed of
either by burying it in the case of stockpiled concrete tear out
or hauled to a scrap yard in the case of scrap material . The
concrete pads would remain for use by the landowner as a base for
sheds or building they may choose to construct at a later date .
The old concrete wash out area will remain since it will be the
base for the boat ramp and beach area and 350 feet of working
face will need grading 3h to iv. The remaining 26 . 03 acres will
be pre-law undisturbed area, lake area and reclaimed area done
under the existing permit .
The plan is to grade the final lake slopes as mining pro-
gresses so we expect to have no more then 350 linear feet of
sloping that would need to be done to complete lake shore recla-
mation. Due to the depth of the lake this would involve pushing
approximately 2 , 016 cy of material into the lake to create the
3 : 1 slope along the working face . No additional material would
need to be imported since the material would come from the area
above the working face as described in the reclamation plan.
This is an attempt to set the bond so there is flexibility
to operate the mine without reevaluating the bond yearly over the
next 10 years . As mining progress the actual grading costs go
