MINING PLAN EXHIBIT D(CONT)
There are 3 types of soils were found on the site . These soils
are typically found in Otero County along the Arkansas River .
Descriptions for each soil are part of the NRCS report that is in
EXHIBITI/J of this application. Because of the disturbed nature of
the site these descriptions do not apply and there is little or
no native vegetation on the site . The current permit committed
to saving enough soil to cover the seeded area with an average of
6 inches and we are committed to doing the same thing.
SITE INFORMATION
Of the total 38 . 35 acres ± in the permit; 15 . 65 acres ± is the
old Plant Site, 12 . 68 acres is existing lake area, and 10 . 05
acres is pre law disturbance . If, any part of the pre-law area
is redisturbed it will be reclaimed. Please refer to the MINING
TIMETABLE on page 10 for the estimated acreage of each area asso-
ciated with the mining. The revegetation plan and methods used
in each area during reclamation are discussed in EXHIBIT E -RECLAMA-
TION PLAN.
There is no topsoil available due to past uses of the property
but any that is encountered in the stockpile area will be re-
tained for use on areas needing revegetation. Much of the
eastern part of the mine is mined out and covered with water and
the western area is a graveled Plant Site .
Topsoil stockpiles will be located around the north side of the
mine area so they are close to the area needing resoiling when
mining ends . See the MINING PLAN MAP -MAP EXHIBIT C-1 for the approxi-
mate location of areas discussed in this text .
This pit will be operated year-around, weather permitting, as a
specification aggregate supply for sale on the open market and as
a borrow source for the landowners use on his farm in the Rocky
Ford area .
Mining equipment may include but is not limited to, front-end
loaders, scrapers , off-road haul trucks, motor graders, track-
hoes , bulldozers, dump trucks and a water truck. No blasting
will take place at the mine .
8
