Response 1:
Please see the attached Figures 1 through 4 which depict the permit boundary
updated to AM-12.
Comment 2:Figures 4 through 6
Figure 4 shows the cross section orientation for the sections shown on Figures S and 6. As
these monitoring wells are intended for the life of mine, the proposed disturbance limits for
the North Cresson Mine (Schist Island and Globe Hill) should be shown on all three figures
to depict future conditions. Please make the following revisions:
a. Figure 4: Show the horizontal limits of the North Cresson Mine,
b. Figure S: Show the planned ultimate North Cresson Mine pit outline on Section AA',
including the pit floor elevation,
c. Figure 6: Show the planned ultimate North Cresson Mine pit outline on Section B-B',
including the pit floor elevation.
Response 2:
The figures listed below address Comment 2: Figures 4 through 6. To include the
deepest portion of the North Cresson Mine pit, new cross-sections have been
created.
a. Figure 4 now includes the horizontal limits of the North Cresson Mine pits.
b. Figure 7 has been added and depicts cross-section C-C' from PGMW-3
through the deepest part of the North Cresson Mine pit.
c. Figure 8 has been added and depicts cross-section D-D' from PGMW-4
through the deepest part of the North Cresson Mine pit.
Comment 3: Figure S
The plan on page 2 states "the monitoring wells will be drilled to bedrock" implying that will
be screened in the alluvium. However, Figure S (PGMW-3 Cross Section) shows the
monitoring well extending well into the Precambrian bedrock. Please explain this
discrepancy and clarify what formation(s) will be screened. If the deeper completion depth is
shown simply to make it easier to see on the figure, please include an inset figure using a
larger scale to show the intent is to complete the well in the shallow alluvium/colluvium.
