During the winter, deep snow prevents easy access to the mine site. Both
exploration and mining may take place. The amount of mineral to be mined is unknown as it
has not been defined yet and is subject to results of exploration activities. Activities are
planned to stop in the year 2030 or sooner. The exact final end of the project will be
determined by results of what is found.
• Soil Salvage and Stock Piling
No soil stock piles are needed for this operation. All activities and waste disposal are being
conducted upon historically disturbed areas with no top soil. The waste rock from this
operation very quickly accepts vegetation.
• Quantity of Waste Rock to Be Produced
The amount of waste rock that might be produce from this operation is not known, however,
the maximum amount of waste rock that is planned to be placed on the existing disturbed
area is 30,000 tons for this permit. This will have a volume of 23,300 cubic yards and will be
contained in an area of 0.9 acres. See Exhibit E Map for the location of this future waste rock
containment area.
• The Poorman mine access three narrow vein deposits. These vein deposits are nearly
vertical and do not drop on the surface. They are rarely more than 3 feet thick.
• Major Components of the Mining Operation
The current infrastructure of the Poorman Mine is shown in map form in Figure 2 of this
report.
3
