Colorado Backhoe Service Page 4
The Orr Pit- M-2009-074 Adequacy response #1
January 10, 2018
9. The Exhibit E Reclamation Plan states the working face will be limited to 200 feet, however the
Exhibit D Mine Plan and Exhibit L Reclamation Costs both state the working will be limited to 400
feet. Please correct this discrepancy.
This is my fault the 400 foot is the correct distance . I have
corrected the reference in the Reclamation Plan text and am
providing a copy of the revised page for the file. Complete
copies of Exhibit E with the changes, is attached for the file.
10. The Exhibit E Reclamation Plan refers to a wildlife statement prepared by the Colorado Parks &
Wildlife. Please provide this wildlife statement as it has not been included in CN-01 materials.
I just flat forgot to forward you a copy when I received it on
August 9, 2017 . A copy is attached for the file.
11. The Applicant proposes to stabilize the 20.51 acre "Farm Yard" area by graveling it. Please
provide the type of gravel and thickness of gravel which will be placed on the area for reclamation.
Please clarify if this material is currently located on-site and will be protected and reserved for
reclamation throughout the life of mine. Please identify the location(s)of the reclamation gravel
stockpile(s) on the Exhibit C Mine Plan Map.
Currently 13 . 75 acre existing floor is gravel and has been
used for many years this area was used as a Farm Yard, parking
area and processing plant site. During this time it was
covered with whatever material was left when past mining
operations temporally ended. So our plan to "gravel it is
consistent with this past uses . There is to growth medium on
the area to use for seeding and if mining ended prematurely
then only grading would be needed to return it to it current
condition.
We did not plan for any specific amount to be spread over
the area only that a gravel base would be left over the
bedrock so it would be usable as a parking area. This
material will come from what is left during processing and
stockpiling or could be pit run. None would need to be
imported to complete grading of the final floor. No dedicated
piles of material are kept on site since there is adequate
material on site that this time to place a 2 to 3 inch cover
over the 6 . 76 acres of new floor area that will be created as
mining progresses .
