topsoiled. The lined berms around any and all fuel storage tanks will be removed while sporadic
earthen berms throughout the site will remain.
The mill building will remain after reclamation as a horse barn for the residences that are
planned in the post-mine land use. The building will be 170' x 80' and will feature stamped steel
panel walls and a steel roof. It is ideal for this use and will improve the value of residential land
when the site is reclaimed.
2. Reclamation Timetable
Reclamation will take place concurrent with mining with an additional estimated 4 months of
reclamation commencing after mining is completed. Mining is projected to be completed by
2027. Therefore, final reclamation and bond release is expected to be completed by 2028 or
within 11 years. Exhibit L: Reclamation Costs describes the worst case bond scenario.
3. Revegetation Plan
For each area of reclamation, lands will be disked to loosen the soil. Seed will either be drilled
or broadcast seeded depending on slope conditions and site parameters at the time of planting.
Seed mixes listed below will be used to revegetate the site with rangeland mix on the slopes and
flats while wetland species will be planted along a 10 foot wide perimeter around each pond left
remaining during reclamation. Shredded trees or certified weed free mulch will be crimped into
the surface at 2000 lbs.per acre. Soil amendments may be added to substitute topsoil created
from settling pond fines as needed and determined by a soil test at the time of seeding. Heavy
furrows will be left in tilled topsoil to provide moisture concentration and shade areas in order to
promote better conditions for successful vegetation establishment. Seeding will take place during
the fall following retopsoiling of slopes. Slopes will be regraded, backfilled, and retopsoiled as
soon as they are able to be reclaimed.
Pre-law areas of the site are reclaimed with a different approach to post-law areas. The pre-law
boundary is shown on Map F-1. Prior to these 1977 laws, topsoil placement and reclamation
were not regulated. Therefore, these areas are filled with gravel overburden and are topsoiled
with site made material from waste fines. Because revegetation of pre-law areas is especially
challenging due to the lack of preexisting topsoil, the Operator retains operational flexibility
Alma Placer Mine <:rcg I,_ki aad A%„Wiaty.wl,I.t
December 2017 E-3
