No explosives will be used in conjunction with mining and reclamation operations.
2. Mining Timetable
An average of yearly production values from the last five years for the Alma Placer Mine is the
processing of 60,000 tons of gold-bearing gravel per year. Since the operation will only be
active for 6-9 months per year, and the total resource to be mined is 500,000 to 600,000 CY,the
full gold mining operation will take approximately 8.5-10 years, provided no new resource areas
are identified, no plant expansion occurs, or other unforeseen factors occur. Gravel resource may
be recovered and sold as a byproduct to gold placer mining for approximately 13 years.
The mining schedule is planned to minimize disturbance by reclaiming areas as additional
mining is undertaken. If large contracts are awarded to the site, production could increase to the
permit maximum, thereby curtailing the life of the pit. On the other hand, if contracts are less
than anticipated, the life of the pit could be extended.
3. Mine Facilities and Operation
A summary of equipment and related tanks used during gold mining and secondary gravel
processing is shown below:
• Gold wash plant, a 170' x 80' metal building built on a concrete foundation
• office/warehouse/shop— 100' x 45' x 22' high walls with partial concrete floor
• assorted power poles
• Portable restrooms for employees and visiting personnel
• equipment storage building (metal) on skids for easy removal with 24' x 50' concrete
block walls sealed for secondary containment
• insulated pump house (18' x 34'; steel &wood construction and contains 88 horse power
motor), located near the South Platte River where Access 1 enters Highway 9
• 12"plastic water line used to deliver water from the pump house to the processing plant
• 36" stacker conveyors remove waste material from the processing plant
• 36"portable overland conveyor brings gold-bearing gravel from the active cut to the
processing plant
• 5" grizzly in pit (2)
Alma Placer Mine Grm t x WL.
