Prior to January 31, 1994, this well had a median
dissolved manganese concentration of 0.76 mg/L, with a sample size of only four.
Through 2016 the data from ARwell regularly exceed the 0.05 mg/L water supply standard. The
deeper POC well adjacent to ARwell, AR-MW001 D, was installed in 2012 and has been
monitored since that time with an average dissolved manganese value of 0.064 mg/L.
Due to the limited amount of data available prior to January 31, 1994, in the Arkansas River
drainage (4 sample events from one well) it is not appropriate to utilize the very limited historic
data from ARwell to establish a dissolved manganese standard for the existing POC wells in the
Arkansas River drainage.
