Groundwater concentrations in this area was not available. However, when we look at
manganese concentrations in the river there is a clear decreasing pattern with distance from
the site. In the Arkansas River immediately downstream of the site the river concentrations are
0.03 mg/L, and the river concentrations at the most upstream well is 0.014 mg/L.
In the Eagle River drainage the nearest domestic well is approximately 7 miles away. Again,
groundwater data in this area was not available so WQCD looked at the closest river data we
could find. There are five USGS and WQCD monitoring locations on the East Fork of the Eagle
River. For the most recent five years of data (2006-2010) the median concentration was .014
mg/L and a sample size of 20.
