FORREST MINING PROJECT <br /> TELLER COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICES <br /> LAND USE APPLICATION <br /> SPECIAL USE PERMIT <br /> CHAPTER 8: SPECIAL REVIEW USE PERMIT <br /> SECTION 8.3.U.4.e. <br /> WRITTEN DESCRIPTION <br /> (1) The overall estimated period of the operation is from October, 2017 to the fall of 2022. <br /> (2) The operation will be active annually from approximately May to November. A backhoe <br /> or excavator will be used periodically transported in and out of the site during the May <br /> to November season. <br /> (3) The maximum number of employees estimated to be on site is 0 (zero). The maximum <br /> number of contractors (equipment excavation) estimated to be on site is 2 (two). <br /> (4) List and description of all major equipment to be present of site: <br /> 1. Backhoes, similar to a John Deere 310 (yellow with a transport height of 11 feet 9 <br /> inches). <br /> 2. Excavators, similar to Link-Belt 290 LX (red & white with a transport height of 10 feet <br /> 7 inches). <br /> (5) Description of environmental monitoring conducted on or off the site to comply with <br /> regulatory requirements, and any Spill Containment Plan required to be submitted in <br /> partial or full fulfillment of any State or Federal mining-related application or permit. <br /> 1. The site with be periodically monitored by the USDA Forest Service and the Colorado <br /> Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety. <br /> 2. No chemicals, toxic substances or explosives will be used on this site. Possible <br /> hazardous substances include fuel or fuel leaks from machinery. If there is a spill of fuel, <br /> all contaminated soils will be removed and disposed of.To prevent fuel leaks/spills from <br /> contacting the ground, a tarp and absorbent pad (moving blanket) will be placed under <br /> the machinery while parked or refueling. In the event of a fluid leak that contacts the <br /> ground, USFS, WQCD and CO DRMS will be notified in order to comply with required <br /> clean up procedures.
