FORREST MINING PROJECT <br /> TELLER COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICES <br /> LAND USE APPLICATION <br /> SPECIAL USE PERMIT <br /> CHAPTER 8: SPECIAL REVIEW USE PERMIT <br /> SECTION 8.2.6.1 <br /> WRITTEN DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT <br /> (A) NATURE OF THE PROPOSED USE: <br /> The proposed project is for the purpose to conduct mineralogical exploration and mining <br /> activities and associated reclamation work on unpatented mining claims the applicant owns in <br /> the Crystal Creek Mining Area beginning in October 2017. The minerals sought after include <br /> Amazonite, Smoky Quartz and Fluorite. <br /> (B) HOW THE PROJECT WILL BE OPERATED: <br /> The project entails the use of mechanized equipment and hand tools for excavation.The <br /> disturbances to the land surface by the pit excavations as well as lands in the reclamation <br /> process will not exceed 5 Acres at any one time. The total mining disturbance over the life of <br /> the operation will not exceed 9.9 acres.The initial life of the operation is to be 5 years with <br /> options to extend the life if and when all necessary Federal, State and Teller County permits, <br /> licenses and requirements have been met. <br /> (C) HOW THE PROJECT IMPACTS ON PUBLIC FACILITIES, PUBLIC INFRASTRUCTURE, AND <br /> SURROUNDING PROPERTIES WILL BE MINIMIZED AND MITIGATED: <br /> There are no existing building on the site and no new building are proposed. There are currently <br /> no overhead or underground utilities and no new utilities are proposed. Access to and from the <br /> site will provided by USDA Forest Service Road 273. No new roads are proposed. The project is <br /> surrounded by U.S. Forest Service lands and will not have an impact on the surrounding <br /> properties. <br /> (D) HOW THE PROJECT WILL OTHERWISE CONFORM TO THE STANDARDS OF TELLER <br /> COUNTY SECTION 8.2.D: <br /> The projects operations and reclamation work will be done in compliance with all approved <br /> permits, licenses and requirements issued by the Federal, State and Teller County agencies. <br /> 8.2.B.1.a ALL USES IDENTIFIED: <br /> The site is on National Forest lands and is currently listed as being assigned the zone code A-1. <br /> No new zoning is contemplated in the future for the site. <br /> Please see attached documents and application information from the U.S. Forest Service and <br /> the CO Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety for additional information. <br /> Page 1 of 1 <br /> 9.
