reveal that any such species are present, they will be reported to the appropriate
State and Federal agencies.
Based on inventories conducted by Ecology Consultants, Inc. in 1972 and
Trapper Mine in 1979 and 1980, to the best of our existing knowledge, no
threatened or endangered plant species occur or will be impacted by mining
activities within the proposed mine plan area boundary.
See Appendix B attached pages 2-121 and 2-122, excerpts from Trapper Mine
Permit.
As this area has been covered in previous NOI's in the past and Trapper Mining
Inc.'s permit has extended in many cases to cover areas beyond their permit
boundary. It is not anticipated that the proposed exploration activities will
negatively impact existing wildlife species or populations.
9) Reclamation Cost Estimate
Reclamation of drill sites, access roads, and sealing of boreholes is estimated at
a total cost of $24,141. This cost is based upon the following calculations.
Borehole plugging and sealing costs are a worst case estimate and no holes
permitted and developed as wells. This results in 4 boreholes with an estimated
394 total feet of drilling. It is estimated that this drilling would take approximately
two weeks to complete. Plugs, borehole markers, cement, drill rig time, and
water truck time add up to approximately $910 per borehole, for a total borehole
sealing cost of $3,639.
Drill sites average 0.23 acres, and reclamation costs include 4.63 hours of D7
SU dozer (including operator labor and burden costs) per site for regrading and
an additional 2 hours with the same dozer replacing topsoil. The average pad
reclamation and topsoil replacement cost is $1,160 for an estimated reclamation
cost of $4,641.
Should overland travel not be a viable option, approximately 6,105 linear feet of
new access may be constructed, at an average width of 15 feet. Reclamation
costs for access roads are estimated at $1.22 per linear foot, based upon the
same cost estimates used for site reclamation, for a total access road
reclamation cost of $7,419.
One hour of manual labor plus vehicle per site has been included for finishing
the seedbed and hand broadcasting seed, plus the cost of seed mix. The
average reclamation cost is estimated at $184 per drill site (or $243.64 per
acre), for an estimated total drill site reclamation cost of $736. Included in the
reclamation costs is an estimate for a revegetation failure rate of 50% and this
cost totals $245.
