No issues were noted.
- Pond C collects runoff from the D Portal Bench, B Portal Bench and the haul road. Pond C was not impounding
water during the inspection; however, the pond was holding a small amount of water. There was no discharge
from Pond C. The embankment was well vegetated and stable. There were no indications of erosion.

- Ponds D and F receive runoff from the #1, #2 and #4 Gob Piles. Pond D was dry at the time of the inspection.
The embankments were stable with no indications of erosion. Pond F was holding a small amount of water (Photo
2). The pond was not receiving runoff. There was no discharge from the pond. The embankment of Pond F is
well vegetated and stable. No issues were noted.

- Ditch D-F16 at the bottom of Gob Pile #1 had been cleaned prior t o the inspection. These ditch was functioning
as designed and protecting Topsoil P ile D from potential erosion. The ditch transports runoff to Pond F.

- Pond J receives runoff from Gob Pile #3. The pond was dry. The embankment of the pond was stable with no
indications of erosion.

- The loadout for the Bowie No. 2 Mine has one pond, Pond K. Gob
pile #2 is stable and there were no major erosional issues. The drainage ditches were free of debris an d in good
condition.

- Repairs to the face of Gob Pile #4 were occurring during the inspection (Photo 4). In February of 2017 erosion
on the face of the pile occurred due to rain and snow. The erosion was located above the D -D9 ditch and
continued down the face of Gob Pile #4 and through the D-F18 dic h onto Gob Pile #1. During repairs to Gob Pile
#4, runoff is being diverted through flexible plastic pipes around the area being repaired (Photo 5). The diverted
water is directed to the gob pile ditches. Ditch D -F16, located below Gob Pile #1, was cleaned to ensure the
runoff from the erosional area was captured and diverted to Sediment Pond F. There were no erosional issues
noted with the D-F16 ditch.

- Gob on Gob Pile #3 was placed in windrows to allow the material to drain before it is spread and compacted.
There will be no more gob material placed on the pile. There were no indications of erosion spotted on the slopes
