Pitch Reclamation Project Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board — 2016 Annual Reclamation Report <br /> 3.8 Noxious Weed Control <br /> During previous DRMS inspections the presence of Canadian Thistle was observed over a small area on <br /> the east wall of the North Pit In addition, Scentless Chamomile (Matricaria perforate)was observed over <br /> a small area on the upper part of the Tie Camp Rock Dump. Pest Away has assisted with noxious weed <br /> control since 2012 resulting in a large reduction in both noxious weeds. In 2016, approximately 3.5 acres <br /> were sprayed using 135 gallons of herbicide at 7 ounces per acre(oz/acre) of Milestone with Telar XP and <br /> 2.0 oz/acre Escort XP w/R-11 Activator. Monitoring for noxious weeds will continue in 2017 and <br /> reapplication of the herbicides will be conducted as needed.
