0
"HELD TO A HIGHER STANDARD"
(6-8") and stockpiled. Overburden subsoil over-top of sand and gravel to be removed
and stockpiled. All areas will be reclaimed after gravel is mined and prior to moving to
next section
(e) Duran & Pearce Contractors (Operator) is currently mining and reclaiming no more than
2 acres per year. The current Martin Pit 1-A is a private pit, and the mine aggregate is
used privately by Duran & Pearce Contractors and is NOT sold commercially. Duran &
Pearce Contractors will mine the existing acreage and reclaim the affected land under
the existing 110 Permit. Operations will then continue to the east as shown on Mining
Map E labeled Exhibit C(a) and (d).This operation is to be a slow moving operation.
Approximately two (2) acres of land will be mined per year depending on demand.
Duran & Pearce Contractors will look to operate this mine as long as Duran & Pearce
Contractors is in busy. We look to operate for 30 plus years.
(f) Please see attached maps
(g) Primary commodities to be mined will be sand and gravel. The primary commodity will
be used for construction use (road constriction, foundations, gravel pads etc.) No
Secondary Commodity to be used
(h) Incidental products expected not to be mined/extracted by proposed operation
N/A— No explosives will be used in conjunction with the mining or reclamation
-NO crushing, screening, asphalt or concrete production will take place at this site*
-There will be NO water diversions or impoundments in the new permitted boundary area
-Phase mining sequence will be complete by the numerical sequence stated on Map C starting
with Phase 1 then continuing on to Phase 2 once Phase 1 is completely mined and reclaimed.
This sequence will be the sequence of operation all the way to Phase 5*
-Duran & Pearce Contractors (Operator) requests to remain an intermittent operator. D&P will
be active annually however do not plan on operating more than 180 days annually.
-The aggregate to be mined will be sand and gravel. The existing thickness varies from 3'to 8'
seams, with approximately 10' of clay overburden material that is to be removed to access the
gravel seams. With mining 2 acres per year, no more than 10,000 CY will need to be replaced at
any one time.
-From past mining, we have found a grey/black shale material that is directly located below the
sand and gravel extracted.
3
