Duran & Pearce Contractors <br /> (Operator) will look to Phase Mine approximately an additional fifty five (55.12) acres, <br /> including the 9.32 acres that are currently permitted under the 110 Permit(Martin Pit 1- <br /> A, Permit#M-1990-140). Duran & Pearce Contractors propose to Phase mine approx. <br /> ten (10) acres at a time and then will reclaim prior to mining an additional ten (10) acre <br /> area. Duran & Pearce Contractors (Operator) will complete the mining of the already <br /> permitted 9.32 acres prior to mining the next section.A total of 68.6 acres will be <br /> permitted under the new 112 permit with an 'Affected Area'to be 55.12 acres. <br /> (b) Surface Mine/Truck and Shovel Methods will be used. <br /> -Dozers, Excavators, Dump trucks to be used to strip topsoil and stockpile <br /> -Dozers, Excavators, Dump trucks to be used remove overburden <br /> -Excavators, Front End Loaders and Dump Trucks to mine sand and gravel <br /> (c) Dry Alluvial operation will not encounter ground water; Current Martin 1-A Pit is a dry <br /> pit that is located well above the areas water table at an elevation of 6,400'. <br /> (d) Phase mining will be the method of mining and reclamation at the Martin 1-A Pit. <br /> Section areas no smaller than (6.2) acres and no larger than (9.9) acres will be disturbed <br /> at one time (active mining, processing areas and unreleased reclamation). No more than <br /> 10,000 CY of Over-burden will need to be replaced at any one time. Mining will <br /> progress at approximate 2-3 acres per year, until all of the 9.9-acre phase is mined out. <br /> Each phase is estimated to take to approximately 10 years.The phase will be completely <br /> reclaimed prior to advancing to the next phase. Each section to be stripped of all topsoil <br /> 2 <br />
