No acid or toxic producing materials are expected to be encountered in this operation. If these
materials are encountered, topsoil will be placed over the area and mining will move to a
different area.
If any fuel spill is encountered, the material will be removed from the site. Also, the Division
will be notified in the case of a spill. Upon final reclamation, all equipment will be removed
from the site. All fuel is contained on mobile equipment with their own SPCC plans.
No problems with vandalism are expected.
The operator commits to clearly marking the permit boundary with stakes surveyed on site. The
site will use all existing roads to haul the product to its final destination. All material from this
site was used in the completion of CO FLAP 209(1).
4. Topsoil Handling
Topsoil will be stored within the stockpile along the west side of the site as shown on Map E-2.
Once mining is complete, the topsoil will be spread across the site and seeded. The proposed
reclamation seed mix is described in the Reclamation Plan. The topsoil will be moved with a
grader, scraper, and sometimes a loader.
Further details of topsoil re -distribution are discussed in Exhibit D: Reclamation Plan.
5. Schedule of Operations
Mining operations will be dictated by the project schedule. Mining may take place six days per
week for the duration of the reconstruction project. The product will be hauled to the
construction area nearly as fast as it is produced. The operator will not have night mining
operations, although minor truck activity or repairs may occur after hours.
6. Gunnison County Impacts and Environmental Impacts
Impacts to Gunnison County include:
a) truck traffic - for a short period of time (2 years)
b) noise — constrained to the short operation time (2 years)
Cottonwood Pass 2/28/2017 C-3 Greg IA -wicks and Associate.
