MINING PLAN EXHIBIT C
1. General Mining Plan
Map E-2 shows the mining plan for the Cottonwood Pass Pit. The pit will serve as a material
source for road construction work on Cottonwood Pass Road, immediately south of the pit.
Mining will disturb almost all of the 12.5 acres delineated on Map E-1.
Access to the site will be from Cottonwood Pass Road, via an existing gravel road coming off of
Cottonwood Pass Road east of the pit. Map E-2 shows the access.
Topsoil is salvaged from the disturbed area. The topsoil thickness is expected to range from 0-8
inches. Topsoil will be stockpiled in a berm on the west side of the excavation area (See Map E-
2). The topsoil in this berm will be used for reclamation. The operation will exist as long raw
material for road base and asphalt is needed for the road construction job. This is anticipated to
be roughly two years, depending on weather. The pit will be regraded to 3H:1 V slopes, or
gentler, in a manner that restores to general drainage pattern of the site.
The north portion of the site will be mined in the first year, to produce road base. The southern
portion will be mined in the second year for asphalt.
Cottonwood Pass 2/28/2017 C-1 / - Greg txwkki and Associate, PW.0
