Reclamation Plan-Amendment <br /> Exhibit E im <br /> Reclamation: Interim Reclamation <br /> Road banks and slopes <br /> Interim reclamation activities will include the installation and maintenance of BMPs as described in Ex- <br /> hibit U. The Operator will also continue to control noxious weeds. Earth works will involve road grad- <br /> ing,and the installation of drainage control using rock barriers,and check dams. Upon mine closure,the <br /> roadbed out slopes (less than 5%)will be regraded and revegetated. <br /> Operational Facility Areas <br /> Upon mine closure, surface structures subject to this plan(post 1950)will be salvaged,disposed of offsite <br /> or buried within the underground mine workings. Mine portals will be collapsed,back-filled, compacted, <br /> mulched and revegetated. Rock storage areas will be graded,mulched and revegetated. <br /> Closure and Final Reclamation <br /> Liquids and debris not authorized for underground disposal will be recycled or disposed offsite in accord- <br /> ance with applicable Federal, State and local waste management regulations. To the extent possible, <br /> buildings,steel sets,process equipment,generators,wire, etc. will be salvaged and sold. Remaining ma- <br /> terials not considered toxic or hazard producing will be dismantled,and cut to be disposed underground. <br /> Portals will be collapsed,backfilled,graded,mulched and revegetated.The mine portals will be buried <br /> under 3 feet or more of run of mine rock and graded with slopes equal to or less than the natural slopes <br /> (approximately 1(H)to 1.5(V). Post mine topographic configurations are illustrated on the following s: <br /> • Figure F-1: May Day No. 1; <br /> • Figure F-la-May Day No. 1 East <br /> • Figure F-2: May Day No. 2; <br /> • Figure F-3: Chief Manway and adjacent Little Deadwood Gulch Drainage;and <br /> • Figure F-4: Idaho mine affected area; <br /> • Figure F-5-May Day 3 affected area; <br /> In addition,the following final reclamation activities will include: <br /> • The base of operation(See Exhibit D) will be reclaimed to approximately pre-mine topography <br /> and revegetated; <br /> • The Idaho Pay Day historic mill building will be removed,salvaged,recycled or disposed in an <br /> approved landfill or in underground mine workings; <br /> • Roads and the La Plata Bridge will remain after mining. and <br /> • The affected areas will be covered with mulch and seeded. <br /> Pre-existing structures such as fences,historical buildings and roads, will not be reclaimed.
