As necessary,the May Day No.l (Figure D-6),May Day No. 1 East <br /> (Figure D-7) and May Day No. 2 (refer to Figure D-8 and 8a)mine benches will be used to <br /> temporarily store ore and waste rock. <br /> A Stormwater Management Plan has been approved by the Colorado Department of Public <br /> Health and the Environment(CDPHE) (Section 6.4.20.10). In accordance with this Plan; Best <br /> Management Practices (BMP) (Exhibit D—Figure D-9)have or are planned to be installed. The <br /> BMP control features will include, but are not limited to: <br /> • Rolling water bars; <br /> • Riprapped and wattle protected runouts; <br /> • Crash and erosion barriers; <br /> • Vegetated buffer zones; <br /> • Silt fences; <br /> • Wattles; <br /> • Erosion Control Blankets; and <br /> • Check dams. <br /> C. Ore Stockpile Consolidation and Processing <br /> Several historic surface ore stockpiles(referred to as the May Day No.2, Lamb, and Bessie G <br /> stockpiles. (See-Exhibit D Figure D-4)will be removed and processed at an offsite custom mill. <br /> Phase 2—Underground Exploration and Production Phase: May Day No 1. 0perational <br /> Area <br /> Underground stockpiled ore within the May Day No. 1 stope (approximately 7,400 CY)and ore <br /> stockpiles located near the historic Idaho Mill building(2,500 CY) (Exhibit D-Figure D-4)will be <br /> the mining focus during the first two to three years.After ore stockpiles have been removed and <br /> offsite custom mill processed, and upon completion of the Phase 2 underground exploration <br /> phase, a more detailed mine plan will be developed and, if necessary, an amendment or technical <br /> revision(TR-1)will be submitted for approval. <br /> The initial underground mining phase will commence in May Day No. 1 utilizing blasting <br /> methods,jack legs, and front end loaders. Mine support vehicles will also include excavators, <br /> backhoes,front end loaders,rock bolt drills, dozers, pickup trucks, dump trucks and five-25 ton <br /> ore haulers. Ore will be hauled from May Day No.l and the Idaho mine area to the base of <br /> operation to be loaded into over the road approved haul trucks. Preliminary exploration results <br /> indicate ore production will continue for a minimum of 10 years at average rate of 100 tons per <br /> day 5 days per week. <br /> 6 Ore and Rock storage pads are designed with an impermeable clay liner or 30 mil geotextile.
