2) SCHEDULE—It is anticipated that each phase will take approximately 10 years to mine and 5 years to
reclaim. Reclamation will be done concurrently with the mining operation to limit the area of
disturbance at the site. The life of the mine is anticipated to be 30 years, which is dependent on the
local construction industry and the economy.
i) Phase 1—reclaimed area is complete and released.
ii) Phase 2—affected mine area ±22 acres, 5 years
iii) Phases 3,4 and 5, ±22 acres each, 5 years per phase to reclaim.
b) Reclamation will begin as soon as the aggregates have been mined from an area. Mining has
started in phase 2 as shown on the map and will progress through phases 3, 4 and 5 as
concurrent reclamation continues in the previous phase. Included in this disturbance are areas
used for temporary truck scales, mining equipment, asphalt production and aggregate crushing
plants. This equipment and various material processing plants will be brought in on a temporary
basis to fulfill job requirements in the area.
i) The internal roads are proposed only and are subject to change depending on the location
of the mining activities.
ii) The truck scales are portable and maybe removed when mining and trucking activities have
ceased during a mining phase. The truck scales will be relocated to the same area during
any mining operation.
c) Reclamation will begin as soon as the aggregates have been mined from an area. It is
anticipated that each phase will take approximately 5 years to mine and reclaim.
d) Included in this disturbance are areas used for temporary truck scales, mining equipment,
asphalt production and aggregate crushing plants. This equipment and various material
processing plants will be brought to the site on a temporary basis to fulfill job requirements.
e) There will be a minimum 25 ft. buffer along the west and north property boundary. Minimal or
no disturbance will take place in this area. No reclamation dirt work and no reclamation drill
seeding is required in this area. There may be limited broadcast seeding used to establish small
areas of vegetation.
f) There will be a visual buffer along the east side of the mine area with a top elevation of±5,340
ft. The visual buffer will not be disturbed during mining or reclamation operations. No
reclamation dirt work or reclamation seeding is required in this area.
g) This ±5 acre area is to remain as is without reclamation for future livestock corrals, water tanks
and hay storage to facilitate future rangeland grazing. . No reclamation dirt work or
reclamation seeding is required in this area.
3) RECLAMATION -Reclamation work will be done concurrently with the mining operation to limit
the area of disturbance at the site.
a) Reclamation will be begin as soon as the land is no longer needed for the material extraction
process.
b) Top soil—The initial mining operations will remove, stockpile and stabilize approximately 3
inches of topsoil for future reclamation use in each phase. The topsoil will typically be stored
near the exterior west or north buffer. These stockpiles maybe stored to minimize erosion and
located away from ongoing mining operations. Stored topsoil will be reapplied uniformly across
the site covering all disturbed areas.
