Arbuscular mycorrhizal inoculum at a rate of 60 pounds per acre. The inoculum shall
contain a minimum of 60,000 propagules per pound and shall consist of spores,
mycelium, and mycorrhizal root fragments in a solid carrier suitable for hydroseeding.
The carrier shall be the material in which the inoculum was originally produced and may
include organic materials, vermiculite, perlite, calcined clay, or other approved materials
consistent with mechanical application and with good plant growth. This inoculum shall
carry a supplier's guarantee of number of propagules per unit weight or volume of bulk
material. If the supplier claims more than one species, the label shall include a guarantee
for each species of mycorrhizal fungus claimed. Mycorrhizae inoculum shall be free of
humus and humic acids, which reduces the potency of the inoculum.
Reclamation, Topsoiling and Seeding February 2017 02900-2
