Section 02900 Reclamation, Topsoiling and Seeding <br />PART 1 — GENERAL <br />1.1 SECTION INCLUDES <br />A. Topsoiling, seeding, fertilizing, and mulching disturbed areas within the limits of <br />disturbance shown on the Drawings. <br />1.2 RELATED SECTIONS <br />A. Section 02100 — Topsoil Stripping and Stockpiling: Topsoil stockpile configurations and <br />protection. <br />1.3 DEFINITIONS <br />A. Disturbed areas: Areas of clearing and grubbing, stripping, excavation, backfilling, or <br />other disturbance of soil or rock, whether disturbed as part of this Project or previously. <br />Disturbed areas do not include: areas where riprap or Road Base are placed as the <br />finished ground surface. <br />1.4 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Submit under provisions of Section 01300. <br />B. Product Data: Provide data on seed mixtures and fertilizer materials. <br />1.5 PRODUCT DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING <br />A. Retain all fertilizer, seed and mulch materials in shipping bags until use. Store in a <br />manner to prevent contact with precipitation or surface water. <br />PART 2 — PRODUCTS <br />2.1 TOPSOIL: Topsoil shall be taken from temporary stockpile(s) at the site that derive from <br />stripping in areas of required excavation for reservoir -area enlargement, embankment <br />construction, waste fill construction, and other areas as shown on the Drawings. <br />2.2 SEED MIXTURE: Native Grass Seed: Fresh, clean, dry, new seed, mixed species using <br />the mix and application specified in Table 02900-1. <br />A. Certification of Grass Seed: From seed vendor for each grass -seed mono -stand or <br />mixture stating the botanical and common name and percentage by weight of each <br />species and variety, and percentage of purity, germination, and weed seed.
