Refer to Section 02200 for
compaction requirements.
C. Copies of the video survey
cataloged by location and date shall be furnished to the Owner and Engineer.
3.2 PREPARATION
A. Excavation for drainage pipe trenches shall be in accordance with Section 02240 and as
shown on the Drawings. The drainage pipe shall be laid to lines and grades shown on the
Drawings. No portion of the drainage pipe shall be placed with adverse slopes.
B. The slotted pipe shall be laid and joined together so that the center of the rows of slots are
symmetrical about the vertical and horizontal pipe centerlines and oriented at the 1:30,
4:30, 7:30 and 10:30 o'clock positions.
C. All pipe shall be laid so the bell end is higher than the spigot end.
D. The joining of pipe sections shall be made with materials, fittings, and couplings
consistent with the type of pipe used. The pipe sections shall be fitted together spigot to
bell, and the joints shall be drawn together so that the bells and spigots are fully engaged.
E. Place drain material about slotted pipe to the lines, grades, and thicknesses shown on the
Drawings. The materials shall be carefully placed and tamped about the pipe so as not to
disturb the pipe and to hold it securely in position while the overlying material is being
placed. Follow requirements for placing and compacting drain rock around drainage pipe
as specified in Section 02200.
F. Re -work drain material that has not been placed in accordance with these Specifications.
Reworking may include recompacting, removal and replacement with reconditioning of
material then recompacting, or combinations of these procedures, as accepted by the
Engineer.
END OF SECTION 02610
PVC Drainage Pipe February 2017 02610-3
