Keep geotextile in its protective covering until it is ready for installation. Cover open <br />rolls using a waterproof cover. <br />B. Do not use hooks, tongs, or other sharp tools when handling geotextile. Unload in a <br />manner to avoid damage, puncturing or tearing of geotextile. <br />C. Protect geotextile during installation form clogging, tears, and other damage. Provide <br />ballast such as sand bags to prevent uplift by wind. Do not leave the geotextile <br />uncovered for more than 14 days after installation. <br />3.2 SUBGRADE PREPARATION <br />A. Prepare the surface to receive geotextile to a smooth condition free of sharp objects, <br />obstructions, depressions, debris, and soft or low-density pockets of material. <br />Geotextile February 2017 02205-2 <br />
