Identify and mark underground utilities and other infrastructure, including existing buried <br />geomembrane liner, and protect from damage. <br />B. Unclassified Excavation: Excavation is unclassified and includes excavation to required <br />subgrade elevations regardless of the character of materials and obstructions encountered. <br />C. Stability of Excavations: Comply with local codes, ordinances, and requirements of <br />authorities having jurisdiction to maintain stable excavations. Contractor is solely <br />responsible for the stability of all excavations during construction. <br />D. Excavation for Channel and Access Road: Excavate to indicated elevations and <br />dimensions within a tolerance of plus 0.1 foot to minus 0.2 foot. <br />E. Excavation for Structures: Excavate to indicated elevations and dimensions within a <br />tolerance of plus 0.01 foot to minus 0.2 foot. Extend excavations a sufficient distance <br />from structures for placing and removing concrete formwork, installing appurtenances <br />and other construction, and for inspections. Prepare the bottoms and side slopes of <br />excavations against which concrete is to be placed in accordance with Section 3.4 herein <br />to result in a firm foundation for the concrete structure. <br />F. Inspection of Subgrade: Notify Engineer when excavations have reached required <br />subgrade. <br />Earthwork February 2017 02200-6 <br />
