PART 2 — PRODUCTS <br />2.1 SOIL AND RIPRAP MATERIALS <br />A. All embankment and backfill materials shall be free of debris, waste, frozen materials, <br />vegetation, and other deleterious matter in addition to the specific requirements listed for <br />each material type. <br />B. Embankment Fill: Soil materials derived from required excavations or from local borrow <br />sources; free of rock or gravel larger than 3 -inches. <br />D. Drain Rock: Clean, coarse gravel or crushed gravel to sandy gravel composed of hard, <br />strong, and durable particles; free of nondurable materials; meeting the gradation limits <br />shown on Table 02200 — 2. Particles larger than 3/ -inch for Drain Rock shall have a <br />percentage of wear of not more than 50 at 500 revolutions as determined by ASTM C535 <br />and a maximum absorption of 3% as determined by ASTM C127.
