Section 01600 Materials and Equipment <br />PART 1 — GENERAL <br />1.1 PRODUCTS <br />A. "Products" mean new material, machinery, components, equipment, fixtures, and systems <br />forming the Work. Does not include machinery and equipment used for preparation, <br />fabrication, conveying and erection of the Work. Products may also include existing <br />materials or components required for reuse. <br />1. Comply with Specifications and referenced standards as minimum requirements. <br />2. Components supplied in quantity within a Specification Section shall be provided by <br />the same manufacturer and interchangeable unless otherwise approved in writing by <br />the Engineer. <br />3. Do not use materials and equipment removed from existing premises or structures, <br />except as specifically required or permitted by the Contract. <br />1.2 COORDINATION <br />A. Provide for space requirements, configuration, performance, changes in electrical and <br />mechanical work, changes in bases, supports, structural work and other alterations in <br />Work as required to accommodate equipment differing in dimensions or other <br />characteristics from that contemplated in the Drawings or Specifications. <br />B. Where Contract Documents permit selection from several options, or where substitutions <br />are authorized, coordinate clearance and other requirements with other Work so that <br />selected or substituted item operates properly and properly fits in the available space. <br />C. Integrate and coordinate work so that the required performance of each item and system <br />is achieved. <br />D. Conduct work in a manner so as to avoid injury or damage to previously placed or <br />existing work. <br />1.3 TRANSPORTATION AND HANDLING <br />A. Transport and handle products in accordance with product supplier's and/or <br />manufacturer's instructions. <br />1. Reference the Specification Section describing a manufactured product for additional <br />requirements. <br />B. Provide equipment and personnel to handle products by methods to prevent soiling, <br />disfigurement, or damage. <br />C.
