There is essentially no overburden to remove in soil
unit Sa. It appears the immediately underlying layer is adequate to be used as a plant
growth material. It is classified as being 4 to 9 inches of clay loam subsoil.
(ii) Nature of the stratum immediately beneath the material to be mined in
sedimentary deposits:
The immediately underlying material is a sandstone conglomerate.
(g) Identify the primary and secondary commodities to be mined/extracted:
At this time the only commodities to be mined are sand and gravel, although overburden
may be blended with the aggregate as material sales require.
(h) Describe the intended use of all expected incidental products to be
mined/extracted:
All materials extracted are for sale and are used for construction purposes.
(i) Specify if explosives will be used:
Since this is a sand and gravel mining operation, explosives will not be used during
mining or reclamation.
31
