The primary and emergency spillway were free of debris. The embankment
of RP-1 is well vegetated and there was no indication of erosion. Refuse Area Pond RP-2/3 was holding a small
amount of water at the time of the inspection. The west and east cells of the 2/3 pond were dry. There was no
discharge from the primary spillway. The trash rack on the primary spillway was clear of debris. The
embankments of the 2/3 pond are well vegetated, there were no indications of erosion. The RP-2/3 pond and the
east ditch of Refuse Pile 2/3/4 are scheduled to be cleaned out in late August. RP-4 and RP-5a were both holding
a small amount of water. There was no discharge from either of the ponds. The primary and emergency spillways
of RP-4 and RP-5a were clear of debris. The embankments to the ponds are well vegetated and stable.

- The Raw Water Lagoon was impounding water at the time of the inspection. The embankments of the Raw
Water Lagoon are stable and well vegetated. There were no indications of erosion.

PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES – Rule 4.10 and 4.11
Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement:
Refuse Piles 2/3/4 and 5a were both stable and well compacted. There were no areas where water had
ponded and the piles properly convey runoff to the associated ditches and ponds. The slopes of the piles did not
have any large rills forming on them.

ROADS – Rule 4.03
Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3)
Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4)
Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6)
Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7):
The Haul Road was in good condition at the time of the inspection. There were no areas where water had
ponded or any sections that had ruts. The access roads to the degas boreholes and nitrogen injection pads were in
good condition. There were a few locations that had minor ruts in them; however these ruts were not significant
enough to be impassable for equipment or vehicles.

REVEGETATION – Rule 4.15
Vegetative Cover; Timing:
Exploration boreholes and the associated pads for 310121-15 (Photo 2) and 310121-20 were reclaimed in
2015. Vegetation on the pads has begun to establish well for the first year of growth. The boreholes have a cap
that identifies the borehole and a wooden post to mark the location of the borehole (Photo 3). No erosion at either
of the sites has occurred and there were no off-site impacts.

SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04:
SAEs inspected include:

- Halandras Landfill
- Degas Boreholes LB14-1, LB 14-3
- Nitrogen Injection Wells 11L-TG-V1, 12L-XC-53, 12L-XC-67
